Huba had come back in the film Monster Hunt II, which came out on February 16, 2018. This time, as Huba prepared to become the monster king, both the old monster king and monster hunters wanted to kill him. (3)

According to the film series' director, the series' story comes from The Classic of Mountains and Seas(《山海經(jīng)》), which is a collection of stories from Chinese fairy tales. It tells different kinds of mysterious animals that are similar to Huba. Some look like blowfish(河豚) that can swallow dinosaurs. Some look like rabbits, but have the faces of mice and can fly like birds. (4)
