Spud Webb was born in 1963 in the USA. He was much smaller than the other kids at school. Although he was small, he had a big dream to play in the NBA. While attending junior high, he tried out for the school team and was refused to play at first, but he did not lose heart and finally got a chance. In senior high, he practised even harder and became the leader of the team. In his last year of senior high, he was named Player of the Year in Texas. At a junior college, he led his team to the national championship and succeeded in getting a scholarship from a university. In 1985, he became the shortest player in the NBA team at that time. In 1986, he won the Slam Dunk Contest. Through hard work, Spud Webb proved that you can do almost anything if you never give up.
